Oxford Hills Military Family Honored by Local Business
On Saturday, December 12, 2020, Oxford’s Total Eclipse Auto Detailing invites the local communities to come together as part of their fifth annual “Operation Sleigh Shine” event. “Operation Sleigh Shine” is a fundraiser to support and show appreciation for a local military family. On Saturday, December 12th, Scott Macha, owner of Total Eclipse Auto Detailing, and crew, will spend the day detailing a Big Horn truck, the vehicle of the chosen military family, as a gift. The team consisting of Local Detail Mafia Detailers, Andrew Swenson of Wolfeboro Car Wash & Executive Detail, and Jim Goguen from Jim’s Auto Detailing and Installation. They will work their restoration magic until the vehicle sparkles like it is ready for the showroom floor. While they are working hard in Oxford, other auto detailing shops across the country are joining in the effort. Multiple detailing locations along the west coast of the country will be also be showing their appreciation to our military by running their own “Operation Sleigh Shine” events. While Macha and team are volunteering their fine skills, members of the community are encouraged to stop by the shop at 136 School House Road in Oxford, wearing a mask per Covid-19 guidelines, bring a donated toy, gift or a monetary donation for the chosen family and see all Total Eclipse Auto Detailing has to offer.
This is the fifth annual collaboration of “Operation Sleigh Shine”. Each year Macha and his team reach across their nearby communities to receive recommendations of local servicemen and women, and their families. Based on these suggestions, Macha and team choose one deserving serviceman or woman to showcase each year. While they are planning the car detailing event, Macha also reaches out to the local community to ask for more support. Monetary donations for the family are accepted, as well as family gifts and toys for the children of the serviceman or woman. All money donated will be used to purchase additional gifts for the family.
This year’s chosen local serviceman is a Corporal for the U.S. Army National Guard. He has been serving his country in this capacity since 2014 and lives in the Oxford Hills area with his wife, their two sons and an infant daughter.
Total Eclipse Auto Detailing can accept gift and cash donations starting now through the day of the “Operation Sleigh Shine” event on December 12th. Any amount of donation is accepted and will be used to purchase Christmas gifts for the family. If you are looking to donate toys for the children, their older son enjoys playing with anything related to Minecraft, Star Wars, Legos, Army men and books. Their younger son enjoys anything sports-related along with same toys as his brother, while their daughter likes blocks and books.
Macha is excited to celebrate this local military family by offering a chance for the community to show their appreciation and support for the sacrifices of all military families. This is an excellent opportunity to give back to those who defend our freedoms every day.
All safety precautions are being taken and masks are required at all times when visiting the shop. Stop by Total Eclipse Auto Detailing on December 12th to show your support to our military and a local business.
